1. Overview

ONELIGHT is a smart light bulb for Second Life, designed to work exclusively with ONEPHONE 1 ULTRA. It is the first device in the ONEHOME smart home ecosystem.

With ONELIGHT, you can remotely control a physical light bulb rezzed anywhere in Second Life directly from your ONEPHONE - including turning it on and off, adjusting brightness, changing colors, and selecting color temperature presets.

2. What’s Included

Each ONELIGHT package contains:

Requirement: You need an ONEPHONE 1 ULTRA HUD to control the ONELIGHT. The bulb does not function as a standalone device.

3. Setup & Pairing

Step 1: Install the ONEHOME App

Open the App Store on your ONEPHONE and install the ONEHOME app. This is where you will manage and control all your smart home devices.

Step 2: Rezz the Bulb

  1. Find the ONELIGHT object in your Second Life inventory.
  2. Rezz it on the ground or any surface where you want the light.
  3. The bulb will automatically request a URL and register itself with the ONEPHONE server.
  4. You will see two confirmation messages in local chat:
    • ONELIGHT online: [URL] - the bulb has a communication channel.
    • ONELIGHT registered with ONEPHONE server. - the server knows about this bulb.

Step 3: Pair the Bulb

  1. Open the ONEHOME app on your ONEPHONE.
  2. Tap the + (Add Device) button.
  3. Your ONELIGHT should appear in the discovery list. It will show as “ONELIGHT” with its device UUID.
  4. Tap Pair next to the device.
  5. Enter a name for your bulb (e.g., “Living Room”, “Bedroom Lamp”).
  6. The bulb is now paired and ready to control.

Tip: You can pair multiple ONELIGHT bulbs. Each one shows up as a separate device in your ONEHOME app.

4. Light Controls

Tap on any paired device in the ONEHOME app to open its control panel.

On / Off Toggle

Use the toggle switch to turn the light on or off. You can use the quick toggle on the device card in the list, or the larger toggle in the control panel.

Brightness

Drag the brightness slider to adjust light intensity from 0% to 100%.

5. Colors & Temperature

Color Presets

Choose from 8 color presets to change the light color instantly:

Color Temperature Presets

Instead of a specific color, you can choose a color temperature to simulate different types of lighting:

Note: Selecting a color temperature overrides the current color. Selecting a color preset overrides the current temperature. They are two different ways to set the bulb’s color.

6. Managing Devices

Renaming a Device

Tap the pencil icon in the control panel header to rename your device. Enter a new name and tap the checkmark to confirm.

Deleting a Device

Tap the trash icon in the control panel header to delete a device. A confirmation dialog will appear. Once deleted, the device is fully removed from your account.

Re-pairing: After deleting, you can re-pair the same bulb by taking it back into inventory and rezzing it again. It will re-register and appear in the discovery list.

7. Pro vs Lite Access

Smart home device control from the web requires an active ONE Telecom Pro subscription. When using the phone through the SL HUD, all plans can control devices freely.

8. Troubleshooting

Bulb not appearing in Add Device

Bulb shows as offline (red dot)

Light not changing color or brightness

Cannot control from web browser

Multiple bulbs showing the same name
